The Los Angeles Rams are still kicking themselves over not getting the job done against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship. That feeling will only grow when they have to watch their NFC West rivals play in the Super Bowl, and will hit an all-time high if Seattle takes down the New England Patriots to be crowned champions.

While it hurts right now, they need to use this feeling as motivation to attack the upcoming off-season and capitalize on however long Matthew Stafford has left in his Hall of Fame-caliber career.

A new A to Z Sports mock draft has the Rams taking a shocking approach and adding another weapon in the pass game to Stafford’s arsenal. After a prospect many view as elite falls into their lap unexpectedly.

Rams select Arizona State star WR Jordyn Tyson in a new mock draft

“The Rams have bigger needs on the roster than wide receiver, but they can’t pass up on a player like Tyson if he is staring them in the face. He is a three-level separator with impressive downfield separation. Tyson could quickly become the Robin to Puka Nacua’s Batman very early on in his NFL career.” – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports NFL Draft analyst

You won’t see WR listed as a top positional need for the Rams anywhere ahead of the NFL Draft. Puka Nacua and Davante Adams were a dangerous duo in 2025, so to see them take one in the first round may shock a lot of people. In this case, I think it’s more about how good Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson is than about needing a WR.

Tyson has appeared in mock drafts as high as pick two in recent weeks. He is definitely in the discussion to be the first WR selected and has the potential to be a special player at the NFL level. Despite needing help at other positions, if Tyson is somehow on the board at pick 14, the Rams have to consider him a top option.

This move would give the Rams a scary trio at WR with Nacua, Adams, and Tyson. Which would help Stafford continue off what many believe to be an MVP season in 2025. They can also afford to take a luxury pick, thanks to holding two first-round picks from their trade with the Atlanta Falcons last year in the 2025 NFL Draft.

It’s also important to factor in Adams’ age, as the WR will turn 34 in December. So while WR isn’t a need right now, this could be viewed as the Rams also preparing for when Adams decides to retire. This move would be shocking, but it might help the Rams both now and in the future, with the idea that Nacua and Tyson could be their long-term WR duo and have the potential to be one of the best tandems in the league.
