Injuries were the name of the game for the Buffalo Bills during the 2025 season. On more than one occasion, the team was forced to play shorthanded due to injuries sustained to some key players. One of those players is none other than ascending rookie and sixth-round pick Dorian Strong.

With the season officially coming to a close, the team got an important update on Strong and his neck injury from general manager Brandon Beane.

“It’s a very serious deal,” Beane said. “He’s potentially going to have a procedure that will determine whether he can play.”

A key injury update on Dorian Strong from the man himself

Well, we’ve now heard directly from Strong via Instagram on where he sits with his journey, and needless to say, his comments have Bills Mafia ready to run through a brick wall.

“These past couple months have been crazy,” Strong said. “A lot of ups and a lot of downs but I have been able to get my mental right. I’m excited to have this procedure and get back and be better than ever! I appreciate everybody who reached out. I appreciate the MAFIA for support and prayers.”

Whatever is to come for Strong, one thing is for certain: he’s taking on the challenge head-on.

Dorian Strong was impressive through the early stages of 2025

There wasn’t a lot of expectation for Strong heading into the season, but he made sure to make his mark through limited playing time. Strong earned a start in the comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, a surprising turn of events for the young rookie. In Weeks 2 through 4, he split time with veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White, racking up tackles and looking promising in coverage.

While the talk of the town will be Beane’s decision to draft Deone Walker, Strong looked like yet another late-round steal, and it is as if the Bills had struck gold once again with his selection.

The talented cornerback suffered a neck injury in the team’s Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints, and there had been no real update from the coaching staff until after the season ended, shrouding Strong’s injury with uncertainty.

Now, football takes a back seat as Strong focuses on his recovery and the potential to suit up and fulfill his childhood dream of playing football once again.

For now, the focus isn’t on snaps, depth charts, or draft picks; it’s on Dorian Strong, the person.

His message made it clear that his mindset is in the right place, and that alone is a win, given the seriousness of the situation. Whether Strong’s journey leads him back onto the field or down a different path, he’s already shown the resilience, humility, and fight that Bills Mafia rallies behind.

If this isn’t the last time we see him in a Buffalo uniform, don’t be surprised if his comeback means even more than his breakout ever did.
