Minnesota Vikings NFL mock draft tracker sees surprising addition ahead of NFL Scouting Combine who will stick around
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah knows a thing or two about the NFL Draft, and linked a player to the Vikings that is a very realistic possibility.
The Minnesota Vikings are heading to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week to learn more about the NFL Draft prospects.
Not only are the Vikings going to learn about said prospects, but the majority of the country will be getting their eyes on some players for the first time. All of the talk will surround the 40-yard dash, but the rest of the drills and interviews are going to be more important.
Where are the Vikings projected to go in the first round? We saw a significant shift over the last week, including a new name to know from NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah.
Minnesota Vikings NFL mock draft tracker 8.0
Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon
- NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah
- Fantasy Pros’ Richard Janvrin
- NFL.com’s Gennaro Filice
- Fantasy Points’ Brett Whitefield
“After studying Thieneman’s impressive 2025 tape at Oregon, I went back and watched the film from his career at Purdue, where he played in 2023 and ’24. His range and playmaking skills were evident back then, too. He would be an excellent replacement for Harrison Smith.” – Jeremiah
Olaivavega Ioane, IOL, Penn State
“The Vikings need help on the interior of their offensive line, and Olaivavega Ioane is the lone guard in this class I view as a first-round player. So Minnesota moves up to get him and makes sure Detroit can’t.” – Fornelli
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo
- Pro Football Network’s Reese Decker
- NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry
- Athlon Sports’ Luke Easterling
- Fantasy Pros’ Pat Fitzmaurice
- Pro Football Network’s Jacob Infante
“Dropping a do-it-all safety into Brian Flores’ scheme has the potential to be a lot of fun in Minnesota. McNeil-Warren looks like he could be special when paired with a smart defensive coordinator.” – Perry
Caleb Banks, DT, Florida
“Cornerback is a popular pick for the Vikings here at No. 18 but we’re trying something a bit different. Banks looks to be fully healed from a foot injury and showed off his talents at the Senior Bowl. At a nimble 6-foot-6 and 334 pounds, he could be a headache for the run games of the NFC North.” – Ostly
Peter Woods, DT, Clemson
“Defensive tackle isn’t the most pressing need for the Vikings, but when Woods falls into your lap, you take him. 2025 wasn’t the season many had hoped for with Woods, but the talent is still very much there. At around 6-2 and 315 pounds, Woods is a ball of chaos in the middle with tremendous movement skills. – Roberts, A to Z Sports
Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson
- USA Today’s Jacob Camenker
- Pro Football Focus’ Gordon McGuinness
- M Live’s Kory Woods
- A to Z Sports’ Travis May
“The Vikings could stand to add more talent to their secondary for 2026. Targeting a safety like Emmanuel McNeil-Warren here could be in play, but adding Terrell – a disruptive cornerback with NFL bloodlines – feels like a more prudent play for a Minnesota squad that could use more upside at corner.” – Camenker
Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
“McCoy’s draft range is interesting because of missing all of 2025 due to a torn ACL. But he had four interceptions and nine pass breakups in 2024. The Vikings could take the swing here and try to add more playmaking to its group of corners.” – Bielik
Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
“Are teams undervaluing the running back position again? The Vikings cannot pass on a top-three talent in this year’s draft. Head coach Kevin O’Connell will find plenty of plays for him.” – Davis
Kayden McDonald, DT, Ohio State
“The Vikings’ defense was incredible last season, but Minnesota still could use another hoss in the middle of the field. McDonald would make a lot of sense as a true nose tackle talent in Brian Flores’ defense, creating even more opportunities for Flores to put his players in the best positions possible for them to break games.” – McDonald
Overview
This is a really fascinating shift right before the NFL Scouting Combine. Not only did we see a significant addition in Thieneman with four selections, but Terrell only had four and safety outpaced cornerback nine to five. Is that going to be a major shift moving forward? Only time will tell on that front.
Through eight weeks, here is where things stand, as we’ve collected 169 mock drafts.
