The New Orleans Saints need more talent on offense, and free agency will be a prime opportunity to improve. With that, is there a name that may stick out at the wide receiver position, who fits what the Saints need going forward?

Saints named one of the best fits for WR Jauan Jennings

In a recent collaborative exercise ranking the top free agent targets from A to Z Sports, Kellen Moore’s team was mentioned as a top fit for former San Francisco 49ers wideout Jauan Jennings.

The big-bodied target is one of the best pass catchers on third down in the NFL and would boost the depth of the WR room immediately in New Orleans.

“The good news for Jauan Jennings is that he set a career-high in touchdown receptions this year. That should help his profile as a free agent. The bad news is that he was really hoping for a new contract with the 49ers this past summer and he didn’t get it.

San Francisco was probably right to resist, too. Jennings turns 29 years old in July and leaves him one season away from that magic age of ’30’, which has historically been so unkind to bigger wide receivers. Jennings is a prolific blocker who is best from the slot, but it’s worth acknowledging his yards per route run fell by nearly a full yard in 2025 when asked to play more outside. – Kyle Crabbs

Three best fits: 49ers, Raiders, Saints

I love this idea for the Saints. They must address WR this offseason, whether it be through the draft or free agency.

For Jennings, he is a player who comes from a similar style of offense that Kellen Moore wants to run because of his days with Kyle Shanahan. They share some of the same values in a wide receiver, and Jennings provides more size than some of the other options for the Saints currently.

Devaughn Vele had some strong performances a season ago, but the injury history and overall lack of production so far in his career doesn’t project him as a WR2 next year. As for Jennings, he can put up those numbers given the opportunity. With the Saints, those chances will be there with the defenses putting plenty of focus on slowing down Chris Olave and Juwan Johnson in the passing game, led by young quarterback Tyler Shough.

We’ll see how aggressive the Saints are during the free agency period, but I would full understand Jennings being firmly on their radar this offseason.
