The Eagles would have multiple teams interested in trading for Carter.

The Philadelphia Eagles may be monitoring the trade market for more than just star wide receiver A.J. Brown. With the news of an extension for nose tackle Jordan Davis, could Howie Roseman trade away DT Jalen Carter amid contract negotiations?

I pooled a handful of offers from different teams, and A to Z Sports contributors explained why their offer made sense. The Eagles would have a ton of interest if they chose to ship off Carter.

Hypothetical trade offers for Eagles star DT Jalen Carter

49ers address major roster flaw on defense by adding Carter

Offer:
49ers receive: Jalen Carter
Eagles receive: 49ers first round pick (No. 27)

“The 49ers have always been true Super Bowl contenders when that defense is humming and they are swarming with their pass rush. While the EDGE players could be among the best in the league in 2026, the interior could use some more juice. Insert Jalen Carter and suddenly that unit becomes the best in the league in my opinion.

Carter needs a strong infrastructure to really thrive and San Francisco’s winning pedigree and championship metal can hone the person as well as the player. You will be hard pressed to find a better prospect in the backend of round 1 than Carter, so that’s what I’m offering.” — Rob Gregson

Jim Harbaugh gets aggressive to improve defensive line in LA

Offer:
Chargers receive: Jalen Carter
Eagles receive: 2026 first round pick (22nd overall) and a 2027 third round pick

“The Chargers have a chance to swing for the fences this offseason and, after the Eagles’ decision to pay Jordan Davis, defensive tackle Jalen Carter could be their best chance to do it. The interior line of scrimmage play already got a boost at center with the signing of Tyler Biadasz at center.

The 2026 NFL Draft has some compelling interior defensive linemen but none have the impact ability of Carter. For the Chargers, the team has plenty of salary cap space to onboard (and extend) Carter as a cornerstone in the middle of the defense.” — Kyle Crabbs

Brian Flores finds new stud to replace veteran for Vikings

Offer:
Vikings receive: Jalen Carter
Eagles receive: 18th overall pick and a 2027 4th

“The Minnesota Vikings have been searching for an explosive pass rusher on the interior since Kevin Williams departed after the 2013 season. They were hoping that Sharrif Floyd would be that guy, but it didn’t work out due to a botched surgery.

Carter would give them the engine on the interior that they would be able to maximize with their blitzing structure. The offer is relatively smaller than you’d expect for two reasons:

  1. He showed some regression this year
  2. Can you trust him? He got ejected for spitting and hasn’t exactly been someone they can trust

Great player, but red flags hinder the return for the Eagles.” — Tyler Forness

Packers stay active on trade market to give Micah Parsons another playmaker beside him

Offer:
Packers get: Jalen Carter, 2027 6th-round pick (from Green Bay)
Eagles get: Rashan Gary, Karl Brooks, 2026 2nd-round pick

“The Packers are in a tough spot for this deal, both in terms of draft capital and cap situation — considering that Carter would demand a huge extension soon. A possible way of solving this is sending Gary (who’s set to make $19.5 million) and Karl Brooks ($3.7 million) as part of the package. The players aren’t necessarily stars, but they are helpful pieces who could help the Eagles rebuild their front without Carter.

Green Bay has already sent its first-rounder in 2026 and 2027 to the Dallas Cowboys as part of the Micah Parsons trade, so sending another second is a hard proposition, but it’s for a really special player. The combination of two solid players and a Day 2 pick, plus the cap space, can be enticing after all for Howie Roseman. In this scenario, the Packers would get back the sixth-rounder they sent the Eagles for offensive lineman Darian Kinnard.

On the Packers, Carter would create an impressive interior duo with his former Georgia teammate Devonte Wyatt, with Micah Parsons and Lukas Van Ness on the edges. That’s probably the most horrifying defensive line an NFL team would build.” — Wendell Ferreira

Aaron Glenn builds Jets defensive core by adding Pro Bowler

Offer:
Jets receive: Jalen Carter
Eagles receive: pick 44 (2nd) and a 2027 third round pick

“The Jets need more production out of the interior of their defense after sending Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys. Jalen Carter may be just what the doctor ordered, especially if he can be had for significantly less than they got in return for Williams.

Carter needs to be paid a lot, and that alone should bring the trade value down a bit. For a team like the Jets, which is still likely a year away from its rebuild really picking up steam, it can’t part with premium picks. But I think sending a second this year and a future third-round selection makes a lot of sense for their current and future outlook.” — Destin Adams

Raiders start rebuilding defense under new staff

Offer:
Raiders receive: Jalen Carter
Eagles receive: 2026 third round pick (67), 2026 fourth round pick (134), and 2026 sixth round pick (184)

“The Las Vegas Raiders are in rebuild mode, so I’m not sure it would be smart to send some high picks for a player who may or may not fit the culture Vegas wants to build. However, he’s a very good player, and a player who could easily help replace what the Raiders are losing from Maxx Crosby, just at a different position.

Carter provides star power on the defensive side of the ball, while the Raiders won’t be giving up a ton of important capital. To me, this offer is fair from the Raiders given their situation, but it doesn’t mean it will be the best offer.” — Justin Churchill

Accepting the best offer for DT Jalen Carter

This is not an easy choice. The Packers deal is a unique one, considering the proven talent involved in it. Both Gary and Brooks could play a role for the Eagles in 2026 as they look to return to the Super Bowl after a frustrating 2025.

On the other hand, garnering a first-round pick in this year’s draft brings plenty of value as well. The best one of those on the table comes from the Vikings, but their 2027 pick involved is a round later than the Chargers’ offer. With that, I do lean towards LA’s package.

The final two on the table for Philly are from the Packers and Chargers. Ultimately, the Eagles choose the offer from Los Angeles in this exercise to continue building their young talent and increase their 2027 draft capital, which should come in handy down the road.
