The Buffalo Bills’ offseason is in full swing.

Free agency is here, the draft is upcoming, and the roster is starting to take shape for the upcoming 2026 season. General manager Brandon Beane and the front office have been busy, bringing in new players, and new head coach Joe Brady has spent the early parts of the offseason building his new staff around him. A lot of things are going to look different for Buffalo in 2026.

Before the draft could get here, and in the middle of free agency, a handful of players cashed in in a big way, earning some massive paydays along the way.

Over the weekend, nine players had contract triggers vest.

Quarterback Josh Allen, cornerback Christian Benford, defensive end Greg Rousseau, wide receiver Khalil Shakir, wide receiver Josh Palmer, linebacker Terrel Bernard, running back James Cook, and offensive lineman Dion Dawkins all saw a nice payday.

Offensive lineman Dion Dawkins also earned a roster bonus. In total, players cashed in on around $107.5 million. Again, a massive payday for a handful of important playmakers. It’s important to note that this cash doesn’t go against the team’s salary cap. Buffalo isn’t $107 million in the hole now.

Josh Palmer hasn’t looked worth his contract during his time with the Bills

Taking a look at all the players, wide receiver Josh Palmer sticks out like a sore thumb. Not to dunk on the guy, but he hasn’t lived up to his contract since joining the organization.

Yes, injuries were at play, and during the 2025 season, we think it severely limited his abilities on the field, but his contract is looking rather disgusting when also looking at his production since joining the organization.

Since joining Buffalo, Palmer has only amassed 22 receptions for 303 yards in 12 games played.

While Palmer’s situation raises some questions, the bigger takeaway is just how much of this roster Buffalo is invested in. These contract triggers show exactly who the Bills are counting on to lead the way in 2026 and who still has something to prove. With the draft approaching and competition on the horizon, every dollar spent is going to be put to the test.
