You would be searching for a while if you are looking for someone who has it better than Seattle Seahawks superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba right now.

He is coming off a year in which he was crowned the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year and won his first Super Bowl, and he followed it up by signing a monster extension to keep him in Seattle for the long haul.

He recently spoke with the media for the first time following his new contract. And the wide receiver had quite the statement to make about what is next for him as a player and as a Seahawk.

No one can accuse Jaxon Smith-Njigba of being complacent following his mega extension, he already has his eyes set on his next goal

What’s next for the NFL’s new highest-paid wide receiver? It’s a good question, and exactly what one reporter asked during Smith-Njigba’s press conference following his mega extension.

“You were the Offensive Player of the Year, won a Super Bowl and are now the highest-paid WR. What’s next for you?”

Some players, after experiencing incredible individual success as the Offensive Player of the Year and team success by winning a Super Bowl with the Seahawks, could become complacent. I mean, Smith-Njigba just cashed in to become the highest-paid wide receiver in football. What more could be motivating him? Well, to him it’s pretty simple.

“The only thing better than one Super Bowl is two.”

I don’t think we have to worry about Smith-Njigba slowing down even after accomplishing so much. He clearly wants to be looked at as one of the greatest wide receivers in the NFL, and that will take more than just one incredible season. He is ready to attack the 2026 season alongside his teammates, with the goal of defending their Super Bowl championship.

Topping his career-best 2025 season won’t be easy after he recorded a league-best 1,793 receiving yards, 119 catches, and 10 touchdowns. There is reason to believe he can, though. He is still only 24 years old and will be entering year two with Sam Darnold as his quarterback, and the two are sure to have a greater connection as a result. And I’m sure if the Seahawks are able to repeat as champions, Smith-Njigba’s next statement will be “well, three Super Bowls are better than two.”
