Latest intel points to a clear plan for Brandon Beane and the front office weeks before the NFL Draft
Some exciting prospects could be coming to Buffalo.
The NFL Draft is just weeks away, and Buffalo is taking care of business, doing its due diligence on a handful of players. There are several pressing team needs on the roster, with one being defensive tackle. Another is cornerback depth behind Maxwell Hairston and Christian Benford.
Fortunately for Bills Mafia, those two positions are exactly what Buffalo appears to be targeting in the upcoming draft. It’s the stage of the season where prospects are invited in for a private workout with the organization. Buffalo held two players in particular, Navy defensive tackle Landon Robinson and Arkansas cornerback Julian Neal.
Neal posted on his Instagram story that he was at the Bills’ facilities, with a simple caption that read, “one step closer.”
Here’s what Landon Robinson and Julian Neal could bring to Buffalo’s defense
I spoke with Ryan Roberts from A to Z Sports about both Neal and Robinson and what type of athletes they are. Needless to say, Bills Mafia should be more than thrilled if Buffalo winds up selecting either player in the upcoming draft.
For Neal, his lone season at Arkansas was one to remember, and Buffalo is hoping he continues his trajectory. He had 55 total tackles and two interceptions in 2025 with 10 passes defensed.
“Julian Neal was a very underrated player previously with Fresno State, but he blossomed into one of the better cornerbacks in college football during his lone season with the Razorbacks. Long and physical, Neal is a very explosive athlete as an outside cornerback. His physicality showcases itself with his work at the line of scrimmage, as well as disrupting the catch point.
“There is some hip tightness with Neal, so there are some schemes that won’t work best for him, namely an off-man heavy scheme. For a team that wants a press corner with zone diversity, Neal has the look of a future CB2 on the NFL level.” – Ryan Roberts
Robinson is more of a diamond in the rough, and as Roberts pointed out, was one of the most underrated defensive tackles in all of college football. He had 64 total tackles with six and a half sacks and a fumble recovery in 2025 for Navy.
“For years, Landon Robinson was considered to be one of the more underrated defensive tackles in all of college football. Part of that is because Robinson played for Navy, as well as being a historical outlier at the position. Based on Robinson’s performance at the East-West Shrine Bowl, as well as his athletic testing at his Pro Day, he is no longer a secret to the NFL Draft community.
“Playing with such natural leverage, Robinson is difficult to stop with the level of explosiveness that he brings to the table. He’s able to shoot gaps with a high success rate. That size, however. Is going to seriously limit his impact at the point of attack. Drafting a defensive lineman with this size profile will be a hard pass for several NFL teams, which is why Robinson most likely goes late in the draft, and possibly goes undrafted.” – Ryan Roberts
Even if neither name gets called on draft day, the message couldn’t be clearer: Buffalo knows exactly where this roster needs help and isn’t leaving any stone unturned.
If one of these under-the-radar visits turns into a real contributor, it won’t just be a smart pick; it’ll be another reminder that general manager Brandon Beane and the front office are always thinking one step ahead.
