Bills’ Josh Allen has to be more than thrilled with what the team just did ahead of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft
The Buffalo Bills have a lot of work to do ahead of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. The recent report should have fans excited in that the team has shown interest in UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell. He would be a huge addition to the offense and a gift for quarterback Josh Allen.
Get quarterback Josh Allen as many weapons as possible.
With the upcoming draft just days away, the Bills have a chance to do exactly that. While there are pressing team needs like defensive tackle or linebacker, it’s hard to ignore wide receiver as well.
General manager Brandon Beane said that even though the team traded for former Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore, it won’t stop them from drafting a receiver high once the madness begins.
While it may not be the team’s first-round selection, that would be insane, the team has shown interest in a player that would immediately raise the ceiling of the offense and is projected to be a day-two pick.
Ryan Talbot reported that, according to a league source, the Bills have shown significant interest in the University of Connecticut wide receiver Skyler Bell.
Buffalo Bills showing interest in UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell for the 2026 NFL Draft
Bell is an elite talent and had a helluva 2025 season. He finished the year with 101 receptions for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. The wide receiver, as Talbot reported, has good speed and can hurt teams in all three levels of the field.
Bell would be a perfect addition to the offense, pairing him with Allen and players like Moore and Khalil Shakir would be a nightmare matchup for opposing defensive coordinators. Again, get Allen as many weapons as possible.
Bell spent three years at Wisconsin, where defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was the interim head coach in 2022, then spent two years at the University of Connecticut. Throughout his entire career, he’s played in 52 games with 220 receptions for 2,893 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Skyler Bell would be a huge pickup for Buffalo in the 2026 NFL Draft
Ryan Roberts from A to Z Sports broke down the type of player Bell is and what makes him so dynamic as a playmaker. Again, if he’s on the board and Buffalo is selecting, it’s a slam-dunk decision for general manager Brandon Beane.
“UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell was barely on the NFL’s radar going into the 2025 college football season, then proceeded to haul in 101 receptions for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. While Bell isn’t the biggest guy of all time, he is a very smooth athlete who understands how to run routes. Bell has a clear understanding for how to attack open areas of the field, creating a ton of plays working against zone coverage.
“While Bell played on the outside a lot for UConn, his game probably translates a little cleaner inside at slot. In a lot of ways, Bell’s game is eerily similar to Khalil Shakir. He has a limited catch radius and a smaller frame so protecting him against longer cornerbacks outside would probably be best.” – Ryan Roberts
If Beane and the Bills truly want to maximize Allen’s prime, this is exactly the type of swing you take.
Bell checks the boxes, the fit makes sense, and the production speaks for itself. If he’s sitting there on Day 2 when Buffalo is on the clock, if Buffalo is on the clock, don’t overthink it. Hand Allen another weapon and let the rest of the league deal with the consequences.
