Patriots Day 2 Mock Draft: New England adds some pass rush juice, gives QB Drake Maye multiple new weapons
What is the perfect remaining haul for the New England Patriots in the 2026 NFL Draft heading into Day Two of action?
While there is so much controversy surrounding the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini situation, the New England Patriots are pressed to trudge forward and navigate the 2026 NFL Draft. The three-day event got off to an interesting start, selecting Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu with their lone first round selection. It’s an interesting beginning to the chaos.
With Day Two set to kick off later tonight, it feels like the perfect time to project the remaining six rounds. That includes nine more total selections. It would be an extremely intriguing group of prospects.
Round 1, Pick 28: Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah
Now on to Day Two of the draft. Here is a little bit of a mock draft that could fill several other big needs. It would create some more intrigue going into next season.
Remaining Patriots 2026 NFL mock draft
Round 2, Pick 63: Derrick Moore, EDGE, Michigan
Moore is a ferocious pass rusher who plays with impressive power and effort. He will need to add some nuance to his game, but there is still intriguing upside to tap into in the future. This feels like a player that the Patriots will love.
Round 3, Pick 95: Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma
Burks has had inconsistent production over the last three seasons. There is, however, still a unique skill set to get excited about. When Burks is on his game, he is a vertical winner with a ton of upside after the catch.
Round 4, Pick 131: Dallen Bentley, TE, Utah
Heading into the 2025 season, Bentley was on nobody’s radar. During the three previous seasons, he had only managed to haul in 11 total receptions. That all changed this year, and Bentley’s game is eerily similar to that of former NFL standout Vance McDonald.
Round 5, Pick 171: Nick Barrett, DT, South Carolina
Barrett has become a very underrated player in the 2026 defensive tackle class. There is nothing flashy about his game, but Barrett is really strong at the point of attack. Without much pass rush upside, that could cause Barrett to fall a bit this weekend.
Round 6, Pick 191: Lander Barton, LB, Utah
Barton’s athleticism has been zapped a good bit over the last couple of years due to some durability issues. Despite that, Barton is still an intriguing athlete with impressive size and versatility. He should, at worst, earn a role on special teams as a solid backup linebacker.
Round 6, Pick 198: Caleb Douglas, WR, Texas Tech
Blessed with length and good movement skills, there is some interesting developmental potential as an outside receiver. Even if his overall game never takes a step forward, that raw size, physicality, and upside could be an easy sticking point for him. This is a really sound dart throw.
Round 6, Pick 202: Nadame Tucker, EDGE, Western Michigan
Tucker began his career at Houston, but really blossomed as a pass rusher in 2025. He is an undersized rusher, but he has a notable first step, bend, and closing speed. There is a clear upside as a pass rush specialist.
Round 6, Pick 212: Jalen Huskey, S, Maryland
Huskey is a bigger safety with solid overall movement skills. There are some limitations in terms of quickness and flexibility, but there is an interesting skill set to take advantage of. He should potentially compete as a solid rotational player.
Round 7, Pick 247: Jaden Dugger, LB, Louisiana
Dugger is a massive athlete with a ton of range on the second level. From a processing perspective, Dugger is very hit or miss right now. He is going to have to find a home on special teams to stick.
