Bills may have landed the most underrated pick with a real chance to end up as their best selection from the 2026 NFL Draft

The Buffalo Bills addressed many of the team’s needs with their 2026 NFL Draft selections. One name that had Bills Mafia scratching their heads initially might turn out to be the team’s best selection overall. He has a chance to come in and make an impact starting from day one.

General manager Brandon Beane, while speaking to the media, said that coming into the draft, they thought the biggest hole on their roster was at cornerback entering the 2026 NFL Draft. As a recap, here’s who Buffalo drafted.

Round 2, Pick 62:
Davison Igbinosun, CB, Ohio State

Round 4, Pick 125:
Skyler Bell, WR, UConn
Round 4, Pick 126:

It’s the immediate post-draft exercises where we project how players are going to turn out before they play a single snap in the NFL. All of this is just lip service until the real fun begins when training camp starts. All eyes are going to be on Buffalo as Beane needs to really nail this draft class in order for the team to continue to be competitive.

With the No. 62 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun, which seemed like a head-scratching move at the time until Beane’s comments came to light.

That’s why we have Igbinosun as the most underrated selection from the Buffalo Bills.

Davison Igbinosun could wind up being a steal for Buffalo in the second round

While we believe that wide receiver Skyler Bell might wind up being the team’s best selection, we’ve already covered that, so we want to talk about Iginosun as another potential option for the best selection Buffalo made in the draft.

For right now, he’s purely depth. He’s sitting behind cornerbacks Maxwell Hairston and Christian Benford at the moment, and has an uphill battle to surpass them anytime in the near future. However, his selection and his place on the depth chart are exactly why we think that he’ll be the best selection from the 2026 NFL Draft. Again, it’s hot take season. I would be more than thrilled with whoever winds up shining with the team.

All of Bills Mafia remembers what happened in the divisional round loss against the Denver Broncos when Dane Jackson had to come in for relief, getting burned for a touchdown almost immediately after setting foot on the field.

Buffalo desperately needs depth at the position, and Igbinosun provides that and then some. He can be a true difference-maker in Jim Leonhard’s new defensive scheme.

The exact reason why Igbinosun could end up looking like a home run

And that’s exactly where the value comes in.

Igbinsoun doesn’t need to come in and be a star off the rip. In fact, the Bills are in a perfect spot where they don’t have to force anything early. Which is exactly how you develop a player with his kind of traits. He gets to learn behind guys like Hairston and Benfrod, adjust to the speed of the game, and grow into a much larger role.

But make no mistake, the tools are there.

Igbinosun brings physicality, length, and a play style that fits exactly what Leonhard is trying to build defensively. He’s not just depth for the sake of depth; he’s insurance with legitimate upside. And as Buffalo learned the hard way in the playoffs, you can never have enough of that at cornerback.

That’s what makes this pick so intriguing and exciting.

It may not generate headlines right now, and he may not start or even play in Week 1, but if he develops the way Buffalo believes he can, this is the kind of move that looks a whole lot different a year from now.

Low risk, high-reward, and a very real chance to be looked back on as one of the best picks Buffalo made in this entire class.
