Jon-Eric Sullivan may have done a little TOO good a job building the Miami Dolphins’ front office this offseason
The Miami Dolphins already have another team sniffing around their front office for a potential hire.
The Miami Dolphins front office under general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan offers a compelling mix of experience.
Sullivan is a long-time personnel man from Green Bay. His assistant general manager, Kyle Smith, held the same title in Atlanta and is the son of another long-time NFL GM. Jon Robinson, a senior personnel executive, is the former general manager of the Tennessee Titans. It’s an impressive collection. Maybe, just maybe, a little too impressive. Because with the 2026 NFL Draft now in the rear view, the Minnesota Vikings are looking to fill their general manager opening. And they’re requesting an interview with one of Miami’s top assistants.

Welp. I, for one, am really hoping that Ray Agnew blows the doors off the Vikings in interviews. In all seriousness, we can always be happy for someone’s successes and a new opportunity. And perhaps Smith, who just joined Miami this winter, won’t ultimately get the job.
Agnew is a highly accomplished veteran with loads of NFL experience and his candidacy should be a strong one for the Vikings.
If Minnesota ends up sniping Kyle Smith just months into his tenure with the Miami Dolphins, the only thing to do will be to laugh. It’d be a cruel twist for Sullivan to lose his right hand man, especially after the glimpses we got of Smith in the Dolphins’ draft room appeared to show a strong rapport with Sullivan. Smith also impressed during draft weekend for how he handled the press availabilities after Miami’s selections. He’s impressive. And a general manager job feels probable in his future. It shouldn’t be too much to ask from the football gods to request that it doesn’t happen in 2026, though.
