The fanbase aren’t the only ones excited to see the Miami Dolphins finally bulking up on the line
The Miami Dolphins fanbase aren’t the only ones glad to see the team getting big up front.
The Miami Dolphins‘ offensive line is going to have a bit of a different look and feel based on their personnel moves this offseason.
Miami has become known for their athleticism up front. But when push came to shove, the Dolphins offensive line too frequently hasn’t been the ones doing the pushing. The first signal of a different tone up front came from general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley this offseason. But the biggest clue (literally) came with the No. 12 overall pick. Fans have been clamoring for a physical offensive line for years — so they’re excited about the shift. So, too, is running back De’Von Achane. He said what many fans have been thinking for years when he joined former Dolphins tackle Terron Armstead on Armstead’s ‘The Set’.
De’Von Achane is also a fan of the Miami Dolphins’ offensive line evolution
“I was just happy. I was telling this to (someone): I was…tired of before we walk on the field, you look on the side like ‘damn, why (is) everybody so (much) bigger than us now?’ It’s like we’re huge up front now.”

Indeed, the Dolphins did muscle up this offseason. There are three prominent additions to the depth chart this offseason: first-round pick Kadyn Proctor, sixth-round pick DJ Campbell, and free agent signing Jamaree Salyer. Proctor is north of 350 pounds, while both Campbell and Salyer are listed between 313 and 321 pounds. When you contrast that to the likes of Liam Eichenberg and Cole Strange from recent years? Both came through the pre-draft process under 308 pounds.
The different is measurable, although it may not have felt that way if 2025 free agent signing James Daniels had played last year. Instead, he made a brief cameo for the first series of the season and was never seen again.
The fans are excited. I can almost guarantee that Achane is even more excited. As he should be.
