The Kansas City Chiefs are now a widely recognized brand worldwide. It hasn’t always been that way. You could say it all started with the hiring of head coach Andy Reid, who has three Super Bowl wins to his resume. But the truth is, the franchise blew up when Patrick Mahomes arrived.

From the first moment he played—a no-look pass against the Denver Broncos on the road—he’s been a quarterback who draws eyes. Now he’s the best in the league, and has been for some time. The Chiefs have won three Super Bowls, been to five, and have not made the AFC Championship once in their tenure as QB. Sure, it was a down year in 2025, but he’s still the face of the league, and don’t you forget that.

“He’s the face of football since Tom Brady has retired,” former NFL RB LeGarrette Blount said on NFL Network.

And, he’s exactly right. No one has won more. No one has been on primetime TV more, or has played as many national TV games as him. Whether it’s Super Bowls or games in other countries, he’s on every TV. The only people who would argue that he’s not the face of the league are the ones who are tired of watching him. That, and people who need to be reminded in 2026.

The Chiefs know that vintage Patrick Mahomes is on the way

“He’s a dog, that’s all I’m going to say, he’s a dog, he’s going to be ready, and he’s going to handle it,” left tackle Josh Simmons told reporters last week during Mandatory Minicamp.

Last year, as bad as it was, it only fueled Mahomes, even with the knee injury. This team still has a ton of flaws, and some that are definitely going to show in 2026. However, they’ve given Mahomes an improved pass rush and a dynamic running back. It could get ugly.
