Josh Elander and the Tennessee Vols are reportedly showing interest in a transfer player who was fantastic this season in postseason play.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the Volunteers are among the teams showing interest in Ole Miss transfer infielder Brayden Randle.
Randle, who played in the outfield during post-eason play, entered the NCAA transfer portal this week after Ole Miss was eliminated from the College World Series.
Several other programs are also showing interest in Randle.
“Among the schools expressing interest in the Ole Miss transfer are TCU, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Arizona State, Tennessee and Baylor, sources tell On3,” wrote Nakos. “Randle hit .458 in postseason play and started 45 games for the Rebels in 2026. Finished with 24 RBIs and four home runs.”
Randle, who had seven RBIs in seven postseason games, started 45 games for the Rebels this past season. He hit .259 with four home runs and 23 RBIs.
All 45 of Randle’s starts came at shortstop.
The Texas native is known for thriving in big moments.
“I’m proud of him because in the biggest moments, I don’t know if he sees it, but we see it,” said Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco during the postseason. “The pulses slow. He wants those big moments. There’s certain guys that won’t pull the trigger. Certain guys that are different in those moments. He’s almost better in those moments.”
