Oklahoma Sooners star gets absolutely snubbed and slighted in the new College Football 27 video game
The Oklahoma Sooners defensive tackle, Jayden Jackson, won’t care much, but the fans should. Meanwhile, David Stone is rated the best.
The Oklahoma Sooners have the top-rated defensive tackle in College Football 27, and it shouldn’t surprise anyone who has watched David Stone dominate the interior. But his running mate, Jayden Jackson, isn’t in the top ten.
EA Sports recently revealed its top 10 rated defensive tackles ahead of the game’s release, and Stone sits at No. 1 with a 94 overall rating. The Sooners’ defensive tackle, a projected first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, continues to build a reputation as one of the most complete interior linemen in college football.
Now, these ratings obviously don’t carry real-life weight. This is a video game. But the ranking does reflect what the college football world already knows about Stone. He’s that good, and the buzz around him backs it up.
David Stone’s versatility makes him special
A lot of people have Stone getting drafted in the first round, and many project him as a top-10 pick. He has the talent to justify that kind of projection. Stone can play inside, he can play outside at the 3-technique, and he can do it all. That kind of versatility at the defensive tackle position is rare, and it’s a big reason why his stock continues to rise heading into what should be a massive 2026 season for the Sooners.
Jayden Jackson’s absence from the list is notable
One thing that stands out about the top 10 list is the absence of Oklahoma’s Jayden Jackson. You can make the same argument for Jackson that you can for Stone. When healthy, Jackson is one of the best interior defenders in the entire country. He’s one of the best run stoppers in college football. The problem is that he hasn’t been able to stay healthy, and that has kept him from building the kind of consistent resume that earns a spot on lists like these.
I would have Jackson over Arizona State’s CJ Fite, who sits at the bottom of the top 10. Jackson’s talent warrants that placement. But the health factor is real, and until he puts together a full season, his stock will continue to carry that qualifier.
A healthy Stone-Jackson duo could be unstoppable
Here’s the thing about Oklahoma’s defensive interior. If the Sooners get a healthy year out of both Stone and Jackson, there’s no stopping them on the inside. They would have the best defensive tackle duo in the country, even better than Oregon’s pairing of Amari Washington and Bear Alexander.
That’s a bold claim, but the talent supports it. Stone brings the pass-rushing ability and positional versatility. Jackson brings the run-stopping dominance. Together, they cover every gap in the interior. The Sooners just need both of them on the field at the same time.
Jackson’s health remains the variable, and it’s the one thing that could prevent this defensive line from reaching its ceiling.
If those two are healthy and playing at their best, Oklahoma becomes one of the most dominant defensive fronts in the sport, and the kind of team you pick every single time you turn on CFB 27.
