It’s time for Josh Heupel to make the move with 5-star RB David Gabriel Georges that it seems like Tennessee doesn’t want to make
The Tennessee Volunteers need to make the move they’ve been putting off for the last couple of weeks.
It’s time for Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Vols to make the move in the recruiting battle for 2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges that it seems like they don’t want to make.
Ohio State, the Vols’ top competition in this battle, made waves earlier this month when they offered 2027 defensive back Jordan Darren Djila, who happens to be “best friends” with Gabriel Georges (both players are natives of Canada and attend Baylor School in Chattanooga together).
Darren Djila’s other offers are from programs like UT-Martin and Kennesaw State, so this was an obviously an offer that was only made by the Buckeyes to help in their pursuit of Gabriel Georges.
A couple of Gabriel Georges’ former Baylor School teammates are currently on Tennessee’s roster — Jamyan Theodore and Gabe Osenda — but it appears the five-star running back is especially close with Darren Djila.
On Monday, Ole Miss, the other team in the mix for Gabriel Georges, also extended an offer to Darren Djila.
We don’t know how much any of this will factor into Gabriel Georges’ eventual decision, but at this point it’s clear that Tennessee needs to jump in the boat and offer Darren Djila just like the other two teams in this battle have.
Everyone knows what’s going on with these offers, so there’s need to worry about how it’s perceived.
