Some big news on former Tennessee Vols running back Alvin Kamara dropped on Wednesday afternoon.

There’s been a lot of speculation this offseason about Kamara’s future with the New Orleans Saints, the only NFL team he’s ever played for.

The Saints signed free agent Travis Etienne this offseason to serve as the franchise’s starting running back moving forward, leading to questions about Kamara’s future.

Kamara, however, made it clear in May that he wants to continue playing for the Saints.

The Saints, though, weren’t quite as clear.

“We’re just trying to see how he’s going to fit on our roster,” said Saints general manager Mickey Loomis in May when asked about Kamara.

On Wednesday, we finally got an answer on Kamara’s future.

The former Vol is restructuring his deal to stay with the Saints for another season.

Kamara will turn 31 later this month, so he’s undoubtedly nearing the end. But the Georgia native officially has one more NFL season in him.
