While everyone on Rocky Top waits to hear where 2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges commits on July 22, the Tennessee Vols are poised to receive some non-DGG related good news.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported this week that Tennessee is the heavy favorite to land 2027 four-star offensive tackle Niko Kampas.

“Sources indicate that Tennessee is the heavy favorite right now,” said Wiltfong. “He looked at other programs in the SEC. And Michigan was a program that was prominent in his process, but all of the momentum remains with Tennessee for the high upside offensive lineman.”

Kampas, 6-foot-7/294 pounds, is a massive offensive tackle who is originally from Germany and attends the NFL Academy in London. He actually grew up playing volleyball before switching to football.

The four-star recruit has taken visits to Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Michigan, and Auburn

Kampas, who was offered by Tennessee last September, is still a bit raw as a prospect, but he has the athleticism and the skillset to make an impact in the SEC. And the Vols clearly feel like they can get to him that level relatively quickly.

Tennessee currently has 15 players committed to its 2027 recruiting class. Kampas would be the second offensive line commit, joining three offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson.

Kampas is rated by 247Sports as the No. 27 offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 1 player in England.
