The Cincinnati Bengals will bring back their “White Bengal” uniforms for a primetime showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11 on “Sunday Night Football.”

The announcement continues a string of themed game reveals for the 2026 regular season, with Cincinnati already confirming “Open in Orange” for Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and “Stripe the Jungle” for Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The White Bengal game has become one of the franchise’s most beloved traditions. The home crowd at Paycor Stadium dresses up in all-white to match the team, and the atmosphere proved electric again last season during Cincinnati’s 33-31 Thursday Night Football victory over Pittsburgh, which marked quarterback Joe Flacco’s first home start with the Bengals.

Bengals entering fifth year of “White Bengal” tradition

The White Bengal look has evolved since its debut in 2022 when the NFL first permitted clubs to wear alternative helmets. The Bengals could only pair their white helmet with their outdated white Color Rush jersey, first introduced in 2016. NFL rules require alternative helmets to be worn with alternative uniforms.

Cincinnati has since declared its white jerseys, white pants, and white socks alongside the white helmet as one of its designated alternative uniform sets. The team can wear the combination no more than just a couple times per year.

The result is a monochromatic white and black uniform that stands alone across the league. Whiteouts are common across the college football landscape, but no other NFL franchise leans into an all-white alternative uniform the way Cincinnati does.

The look pops even more under the lights, which makes the Steelers game a natural fit. The Week 11 contest against Pittsburgh is one of only two primetime home games on the Bengals’ 2026 schedule. The other comes in Week 17 on “Thursday Night Football” against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cincinnati continues leaning into what works with themed games

Cincinnati has shown a pattern of recreating atmospheres tied to winning moments. The franchise consistently wears its orange jerseys when hosting Kansas City because the Bengals defeated the Chiefs in those uniforms during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The White Bengal game against Pittsburgh follows that same logic, building on the energy of last year’s dramatic win and keeping a tradition alive that resonates with the fanbase.

It also doesn’t hurt that they’ve scored a lot wearing this set against the Steelers.

Last year’s win was actually a bounce-back victory for the tradition. The Bengals lost their 2024 White Bengal game against the Philadelphia Eagles, a game that started well before the sun set.

Pairing the White Bengal uniform with a Sunday Night Football stage gives the franchise its best chance to showcase the look nationally while giving fans another memorable primetime experience at home.
