Former Tennessee Vols DL Joshua Josephs is clearly trending in specific direction in Washington Commanders training camp

Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Joshua Josephs was selected in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders.
And early in training camp, that pick is looking like quite a steal by the Commanders.
Josephs, an Atlanta native who played at Tennessee from 2022 to 2025, was one of Washington’s standout players on the first day of full pads in training camp.
Josephs has been praised for his speed and his ability to disrupt the offense, while several observers have also pointed out his elite size (the former Vol has an absurd 84 inch wingspan).
“Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s a little challenging,” said Josephs of learning Washington’s defense. “I just gotta stay in my playbook. Really, it’s a blessing — all the packages that I’m in, and everything that Coach DJ (Daronte Jones) is doing. I believe he knows what he’s doing. I believe our defense is going to be really lethal this season.”
Josephs totaled 104 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks during his time at Tennessee.
