Denver Broncos: Jaylen Waddle leaves no doubt on how he feels about Marvin Mims
The Denver Broncos made a big-time addition earlier this offseason by trading for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
When the Denver Broncos traded for Jaylen Waddle earlier this offseason, it didn’t take long for Marvin Mims to question what the move meant for his future in the offense.
“I think it really surprised me, you know, just bringing in a guy like that,” said Mims in March. “But if you look at his career ever since high school or college and now, I mean, he’s just an explosive playmaker. I think offensively, we always need more playmakers. I think it’s really fun to watch. So we’ll just see how it all comes out this season.”
“Yeah, a little bit,” added Mims when asked if he questions how he’ll fit in the offense. “It’s just interesting to see how I’ll fit in in the offense. But at the end of the day, just for me, the past two years, the thing I’ve taken pride in has been being able to play running back, be a returner or be a receiver. So any way I can affect the game, I’m happy to go out there and do it.”
A few months later, Mims changed his tune and seemed more excited about the addition, saying in June that the addition of Waddle should “open things up” for him.

Waddle spoke to reporters on Tuesday at Broncos training camp and he made it clear that he’s a big fan of Mims.
“He’s very explosive,” said Waddle of Mims. “I love watching him work. Love going out and just being in meetings and just picking his brain. Marvin’s a big play just always waiting to happen.”
If everyone stays healthy, the Broncos’ offense has the potential to be dominant.
When you combine the offense’s potential with the expectation that the defense will again be elite, it’s easy to see why so many analysts are predicting that Denver will be playing in the Super Bowl in February.
