Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton left in the middle of practice on Friday, and he won’t be back for a couple of days.

Payton, though, has a great excuse.

The Super Bowl-winning head coach is heading to Canton for the Hall of Fame ceremony and the Gold Jacket dinner.

Payton is specifically going to support quarterback Drew Brees.

Brees, of course, played for Payton with the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2020. The duo won Super Bowl XLIV together against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.

Payton, who will obviously miss the Broncos’ practice on Saturday, will be back with the team on Sunday.

The Brees/Payton partnership is one of the most prolific quarterback/coach duos in NFL history. It would feel wrong if Payton wasn’t in attendance for Brees’ big day.
