LSU is in the mix for a player with one of the best names in high school football.
The LSU Tigers are one of the clear frontrunners for a 2028 four-star recruit with one of the best names in high school football.
247Sports’ Tom Loy noted that LSU and Ole Miss are “the clear frontrunners early” for 2028 four-star wide receiver Antwaun Adams.
Adams, 6-foot-1/185 pounds from Chattanooga, TN (he’s originally from Mississippi), is better known as Cornbread Adams. He plays high school football at Baylor School.
The four-star recruit went semi-viral last week when he caught a pass from 2030 quarterback Marshall Manning, the son of Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
Adams is rated by 247Sports as the No. 96 overall player in the 2028 recruiting class and the No. 5 player in the state of Tennessee.
For now, Ole Miss is viewed as the more likely option for Adams, but LSU, of course, can never be ruled out.
It’s still early in this recruiting battle, so we’ll see how things play out over the next 18 months.
