The Carolina Panthers have one more preseason game remaining set to kickoff Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET against the Houston Texans. After that, it’ll be time to turn the page to the regular season with the Chicago Bears coming to town in Week 1.
The Panthers and Texans had a competitive joint practice together on Wednesday, one that was mostly dominated by Houston’s defense against the Panthers’ first-team offense. Despite the poor showing from QB Bryce Young and Co., head coach Dave Canales confirmed that the starters will not play in Friday’s game.

What to watch for from the Panthers against the Texans
As previously stated, no starters for this game from the Panthers or the Texans based on what Canales told reporters after Wednesday’s joint practice. That means Kenny Pickett and Kyle Trask should split the game at quarterback, undrafted rookie and Hall of Fame Game legend Haynes King is also not expected to play due to his hamstring injury.
Even without the starters playing, this will still be a big evaluation game as Canales and general manager Dan Morgan look ahead to roster cuts on Sunday. Here are some of the bubble players to watch:
