With the Las Vegas Raidersfinal preseason game now over, the team must try to accomplish a difficult task. After their final preseason game, every NFL team must cut its roster from 90 players to 53. The Raiders began that process Friday morning.

This will be an extremely difficult process. The Raiders have built relationships with a lot of these players, even guys who haven’t seen the field much. And, at the end of the day, these players are humans, too. Even if it’s easy to forget how human they are because of their size, strength, and athleticism, they’re still human. Getting cut essentially means they are losing their job. Most of them are just losing their job for the time being. More opportunities oftentimes come back around.

Being cut doesn’t mean you won’t be back

Just because these players are cut doesn’t mean that they won’t get picked up by another team. That could be by way of an initial 53-man roster on another team. Or, it could mean getting signed to someone’s 16-man practice squad. They can even get cut from the Raiders and then get signed back to Vegas’ practice squad if no one else grabs them. We see situations like that more often than not, since the team already knows the player and likes them a lot.

As for who the Raiders are cutting, we will have that covered for every single team here at A to Z Sports. The Raiders will have to cut some good players in nearly every position group. This is the best 90 players they have had in a very long time. Look for some good players to be cut from this roster and be picked up elsewhere. Look for the Raiders to make use of their No. 1 waiver wire spot and pick up some good players who didn’t make another team.
