Seattle Seahawks continue churning their 53-man roster in hopes of gathering the best players in order to launch a dynasty
GM John Schneider and HC Mike Macdonald have the team to repeat as Super Bowl champions in 2026, but they’re still continuing to fine-tune the back end of this roster.
The challenge of repeating as Super Bowl champions is one of major importance to the Seattle Seahawks current roster and staff. The Seahawks are looking to join an exclusive club of eight NFL teams that have won back-to-back titles.
A club they weren’t able to join in February 2015.
GM John Schneider alongside HC Mike Macdonald has the unenviable task of figuring out the back-end pieces of this Seattle Seahawks roster. Don’t worry, he’s made plenty of moves already.
Check them out here.
Offense (26)
Quarterbacks (3)
Starter: Sam Darnold
Backups: Drew Lock, Jalen Milroe
OUT: None
No surprise in this room at all. If there was a worry about Jalen Milroe, his performance in Kansas City stamped his status.
Running Backs/Fullbacks (4)
Starters: RB Jadarian Price (Charbonnet IR), FB Brady Russell
Backups: George Holani, Emanuel Wilson
OUT/PUP/IR/PS: Zach Charbonnet (PUP – must miss four games), Robbie Ouzts (season-ending IR), Jacardia Wright (PS), Velus Jones Jr. (PS), Justin Jones
No need to fear, Zach Charbonnet will soon be here. Charbonnet is required to miss the first four games of the year after being placed on the PUP. Rookie RB Jadarian Price is expected to take a majority of the carries. Holani and Wilson will serve as complementary pieces.
Wide Receivers (5)
Starters: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Rasheed Shaheed
Backups: Montorie Foster Jr., Tory Horton
OUT/IR/PS: Jake Bobo (season-ending IR), Irv Charles (IR with designation to return), Emmanuel Henderson Jr. (PS), Julian Hicks (PS), Ricky White III (PS), Cody White, Rashad Rochelle
I expect Irv Charles to be activated once his time on IR ends up due to special teams value. Rookie Emmanuel Henderson Jr. clearly lost his preseason battle to Montorie Foster Jr. Also, good look for Tory Horton who had been banged-up to be on the active roster.
Tight Ends (4)
Starter: AJ Barner
Backups: Elijah Arroyo, Eric Saubert, Nick Kallerup
OUT: Nick Vannett
Keeping four tight ends is always interesting, but in today’s NFL it is certainly understandable.
Offensive Line (10)
Starters (from left to right): Charles Cross, Gray Zabel, Jalen Sundell, Anthony Bradford, Abraham Lucas
Backups: Josh Jones, Christian Haynes, Beau Stephens, Olu Oluwatimi, Bryce Cabeldue
OUT/IR/PS: Mason Richman (season-ending IR), Logan Brown (PS), Federico Maranges (PS), Kellen Diesch, Bobby Hart, Amari Kight
The Seahawks certainly have more guard depth than tackle. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a move be made there for reinforcement. Maranges serves as the international player on Seattle’s practice squad.
Defense (24)
Defensive Line/Edge Rushers (8)
Starters: Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Demarcus Lawrence, Jarran Reed
Backups: Derick Hall, Mike Morris, Brandon Pili, Rylie Mills
OUT/PS: Deven Eastern (PS), Aiden Hubbard (PS), Marvin Jones Jr. (PS), Uso Seumalo (PS), J.R. Singleton, Jamie Sheriff, Jared Ivey, Bubba Thomas
Hard Knocks sweetheart Uso Seumalo makes the practice squad! Other than that, not much notable here for a loaded position group.
Linebackers (8)
Starters: Drake Thomas, Ernest Jones IV, Uchenna Nwosu
Backups: Tyrice Knight, Patrick O’Connell, Dante Fowler Jr., Chazz Surratt, Connor O’Toole
OUT/IR/PS: Chris Paul Jr. (set to miss season on IR), Jalan Gaines, Power Echols, Aaron Smith
An almost too deep position group for Seattle that could see movement. Chazz Surratt had to make this Seattle Seahawks roster.
Defensive Backs (8)
Starters: Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, Ty Okada, Nick Emmanwori, Josh Jobe
Backups: Nehemiah Pritchett, Julian Neal, Avery Smith
OUT/IR/CE/PS: Bud Clark (season-ending IR), Terrion Arnold (commissioner’s exempt list), Trevon Diggs (PS), Michael Dansby (PS), AJ Finley (PS), Andre Fuller (PS), Maxen Hook (PS), Rodney Thomas II (PS), Jordan Washington, Tysheem Johnson, Noah Igbinoghene
This group is a must-watch in terms of roster movement. Nick Emmanwori’s health should play a part for starters). It at least is certainly emphasized with how many practice squad DB’s the Seahawks kept. Trevon Diggs’ contract guarantees are the primary reason for him ending up on the practice squad, but expect him to be activated early in the season.
Specialists:
IN: P Michael Dickson, K Jason Myers, LS Chris Stoll
OUT: none
Nothing of note.
Practice Squad (17)
OT Logan Brown, CB Trevon Diggs, CB Michael Dansby, NT Deven Eastern, S AJ Finley, CB Andre Fuller, WR Emmanuel Henderson Jr., WR Julian Hicks, S Maxen Hook, DE Aiden Hubbard, OLB Marvin Jones Jr., RB Velus Jones Jr., C Federico Maranges (international player), DT Uso Seumalo, S Rodney Thomas II, WR Ricky White III, RB Jacardia Wright
This roster, like most others, should see lots of movement prior to Week 1. Seattle gets to kick off the 2026 regular season, as is the honor for defending Super Bowl champions.
Let’s see who else can earn themselves a roster spot for September 9th in Lumen Field when we get a Seahawks vs. Patriots Super Bowl rematch.
