Vikings Injury Report: Kyler Murray continues progress in being ready for Week 2 vs. Bears
The second injury report is here for the Minnesota Vikings’ matchup with the Chicago Bears, and Kyler Murray continues to practice
The Minnesota Vikings take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon in the second NFC North divisional game of the season.
The first injury report was a fascinating one, with quarterback Kyler Murray being limited on Wednesday. With him being in the concussion protocol, there are a lot of questions about who will start at quarterback on Sunday afternoon. Being that Murray has been practicing, it’s still possible he will play. Head coach Kevin O’Connell said on Wednesday that Friday will be the deciding day for Murray.
How does the rest of the injury report look for both sides? Well, it’s getting extensive.
Vikings Thursday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| WR Jauan Jennings | NIR/Personal | DNP/DNP | |
| LB Blake Cashman | Wrist | Limited/Full | |
| QB Kyler Murray | Concussion | Limited/Limited | |
| RT Brian O’Neill | Knee | Limited/Limited | |
| OLB Andrew Van Ginkel | Chest | Limited/Limited |
Observations
- Seeing Blake Cashman on the list this early in the season is a real stinker, but it could have just been a maintenance day with his wrist.
- Murray being limited for a second-consecutive day could mean multiple things. Friday is going to be the crucial day for Murray and the Vikings.
- This is now the second-consecutive day Jennings missed practice with a personal mantter..
Bears Thursday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| DT Neville Gallimore | Illness | DNP/Full | |
| DT Grady Jarrett | NIR/Rest | DNP/Full | |
| OT Darnell Wright | Knee | DNP/Limited | |
| RB Kyle Monangai | Hamstring | Limited/Limited | |
| DB Malik Muhammad II | Ankle | Limited/Limited | |
| EDGE Dayo Odeyingbo | Shoulder | Limited/Limited | |
| RB D’Andre Swift | Ankle/Knee | Limited/Limited | |
| OT Ozzy Trapilo | Knee | Limited/Limited | |
| S Xavier Woods | Groin | Limited/Limited | |
| LG Joe Thuney | NIR/Rest | None/DNP |
Observations
- Wright showed improvement from not practicing to being limited. They will need him if they want any chance of stopping the Vikings’ pass rush.
- Swift and Monangai being limited is worth monitoring, especially after how explosive the rushing attack looked last week.
