Buccaneers-Browns Weather Delay: Keeping up with all the updates as we await the Week 2 matchup to resume
The Buccaneers were attempting a comeback down 23-19 to the Browns before a weather day put the game on indefinite hold.
Well, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns Week 2 matchup appeared to be heading toward a nail-biter of a finish, but a weather delay has completely killed all the momentum.
There were some very light showers before the delay became official, but lightning strikes right before the two-minute warning have put the game on an indefinite hold. The Buccaneers have the ball, down 23-19, on a 2nd and 6 from the Cleveland 30 with 2:00 left in the game and all three timeouts.
Every strike adds another 30 minutes to the clock, so we’ll keep up with all the updates on-site reporters provide. Right now, it looks like the game won’t resume anytime soon.
Either way, the next updates will be coming in as the evening progresses, so we’ll have any relevant information available once it comes out.
Per Buccaneers sideline reporter Jay Recher, both teams are coming out on the field at 6 p.m. ET. There will be a 10-minute warmup period and then play will resume.
