Former Vols QB Hendon Hooker had an important message for George MacIntyre after Tennessee’s win over Auburn
Tennessee Vols redshirt freshman George MacIntyre replaced true freshman Faizon Brandon at quarterback in a win over the Auburn Tigers.
Redshirt freshman quarterback George MacIntyre saw his first significant action on Saturday in Tennessee’s 24-14 win over Auburn.
MacIntyre replaced an ineffective Faizon Brandon in the first half of the Vols’ 24-14 win. The Tennessee native passed for 86 yards and led the Volunteers on three scoring drives.
It’s unclear what Tennessee’s quarterback situation looks like moving forward, but former Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker still had a message after the game for MacIntyre.
“Handle business young gunslinger,” wrote Hooker in a comment on MacIntyre’s most recent Instagram post.

That’s an important show of support from Hooker given that he and Brandon are from the same city (Greensboro, NC). It would be easy for Hooker to show some favoritism toward Brandon, this shows that the former Tennessee quarterback is going to support whatever decisions are made by the coaching staff.
It goes without saying, though, that both Brandon and MacIntyre will likely see significant action in the final seven games of the regular season.
