Miami vs. Florida State just got some added stakes for the Hurricanes with some notable visitors expected to attend
The Canes are rolling out the red carpet for their biggest home game of the season.
The Miami Hurricanes’ trajectory is streaking sky high as we push towards the halfway point of the 2026 college football season.
At 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the ACC (all on the road), the Canes look like they haven’t missed a beat from 2025, and they’re clearly better in some respects, particularly at the quarterback position, where Darian Mensah has made himself a top contender for the Heisman Trophy.
Miami’s offense is explosive, and their defense is fast, physical, and disruptive. Between the on field success and Miami’s recent NFL success, with nine players being drafted last year, the program is a pretty easy sell right now for Miami Cristobal to recruits.
And speaking of that, Cristobal has an enormous opportunity in Miami’s next game on Oct. 17 against Florida State. According to Trinton Breeze of Canes Insight, Miami’s guest list for the game is a who’s who of the top recruits in the nation.
Miami hosting a star-studded list of visitors for Florida State game on Oct. 17, headlined by 5-star WR Brysen Wright
The star-studded list Breeze put out is as impressive of a list of 2028 recruits that you’ll find anywhere in the nation this year. The group includes five players in the top 15 overall players in the 2028 recruiting class: WR Brysen Wright (Jacksonville, FL; Mandarin), S Casey Barner (Powder Springs, GA; McEachern); EDGE Asher Gioto (Jacksonville, FL; The Bolles School); DL Prince Che (Thomasville, GA; Thomas County Central); and OT Antijuan Wilkes, Jr. (Detroit, Michigan; Cass Technical).
Wright is the headliner, ranked by On3 Sports/Rivals as the No. 1 overall player in the country. And he’s someone whose camp is very high on what the Hurricanes are doing right now. Wright’s father told Steve Wiltfong that the Hurricanes are “kind of killing it right now.”
There’s little doubt that the environment for Miami vs. Florida State will be electric. It always is. And it’s undoubtedly a great opportunity for the Canes to take a big step towards a potential ACC and national championship while also laying the foundation for future success in years to come.
