The Tennessee Vols will host the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend in Neyland Stadium in a game that’s very important for both programs.

Tennessee and Alabama are both looking to move to 6-1 on the season. Whichever team wins this game will be in prime position to reach the College Football Playoff, while the loser will likely need to win out to secure a spot.

The Vols have won the last two matchups in Knoxville.

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray made his picks for some of this weekend’s biggest games, including Alabama vs Tennessee.

Murray, who was in the broadcast booth for the Vols’ win over Arkansas last weekend, has Alabama getting the win in Knoxville on Saturday.

Murray thinks the game will be somewhat close, but he’s concerned about Tennessee’s offense possibly being “one dimensional” against Alabama’s defense.

“Where’s Bama at physically?” said Murray. “They got emotionally and physically, at times, beat up against Georgia last week. Linebackers were in the wrong gap, defensive linemen were getting displaced — Georgia running for a bajillion yards with a third string running back.

“… But I really think Tennessee is in trouble of being a very one dimensional football team if they don’t trust their quarterback in this game to kind of loosen things up. So I give the advantage right now to Bama until this coaching staff for Tennessee shows me they’re willing to put more on the plate of whoever QB 1 is. So I like Alabama in this game. I like Alabama 24-14.”

The feeling is that sophomore George MacIntyre will start against Alabama, but true freshman Faizon Brandon is reportedly practicing this week, so he’ll at least have a chance to play in this game.

Tennessee and Alabama are set to kick off at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday in Knoxville. The game will air on ABC.
