The New Orleans Saints are already in Paris, France just a day after defeating the New York Giants, 34-27, and ending their three-game losing streak. They were joined by more than just the players who suited up for Sunday’s game.

Coach Kellen Moore told reporters over zoom Monday morning that rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and linebacker Kaden Elliss each made the trip over to Paris.

Tyson is still on the Reserve/Injured list, and Ellis has missed the last three games due to injury himself. That both of them are in France gives them a very real shot at playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jordyn Tyson on track to make his debut

The Saints drafted Tyson No. 8 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. He was locked in to be the No. 2 receiver in the offense before a hamstring injury landed him on I.R. to begin the season.

New Orleans has heavily relied on Chris Olave as its top target, and Devaughn Vele complementing him at receiver. They’ve combined to account for 91.8% of receiving yards for Saints WRs through six games. Rookie Bryce Lance is third among the group with just. 66 yards.

If nothing else, Tyson can provide more balance to this group. Tight end Juwan Johnson is third on the team in receiving with 248 yards despite not catching a single ball in New York. Running back Alvin Kamara, who surpassed 5000 receiving yards Sunday, is fourth with 76.

Kaden Elliss returning would be huge for Saints defense

New Orleans made sure to bring back Elliss in free agency this offseason, and he’s only been on the field for half the year thus far. Elliss has missed the last three games with a calf injury. In his absence, the Saints rank 31st in success rate allowed, and 28th in EPA per play allowed. They have a bottom-three run defense in both categories without him on the field.

Not everything is going to turn around just with his return, but it would be a promising start in the right direction.

Pittsburgh ranks fifth in EPA per rush this year. Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle combined for 90 yards on 21 carries in the Steelers’ 19-16 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If Elliss can come back on defense, and Tyson can be involved on offense in his first-ever game, New Orleans may be able to go from a three game losing streak, to a two game winning streak before the bye.
