The Kansas City Chiefs have released their second injury report for Week 8’s AFC West tilt with the Denver Broncos.

After not appearing on Wednesday’s injury report, Chiefs rookie CB Mansoor Delane was a non-participant in Thursday’s practice. He was spotted without a helmet, watching practice from the sidelines. The team said the injury was to his shoulder, which is a big concern. Delane dealt with a shoulder injury that limited him during training camp. He aggravated it again on his Week 1 interception against the Broncos. He missed time on the other end of that injury. It’s unclear when Delane’s shoulder got dinged. He spoke to the media pre-practice on Wednesday, which suggests it happened during practice.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each team’s Thursday injury report for Week 8. Keep in mind that clubs can add to the injury report through kickoff on Sunday. They will release game status designations on Friday, Oct. 30.

Observations

  • Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was limited Thursday after participating fully in a light practice Wednesday. This is likely the new norm until Kelce’s ankle is 100%.
  • Chiefs RT Jaylon Moore continues to trend toward returning from concussion in Week 8.
  • Chiefs WR Rashee Rice logged a second consecutive limited practice. He’s expected to return this week, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s closer to a game-time decision.
  • Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed returned to limited practice. Steve Spagnuolo shouldered some blame for Sneed’s struggles in Week 7.
  • Chiefs DT Omarr Norman-Lott is still ramping up as he practices for the first time in over 365 days. I don’t expect the team to activate him to the 53-man roster in Week 8.

Observations

  • Three players saw their practice status upgraded on Thursday. Marvin Mims (ankle) returned to full participation after being limited Wednesday. Zach Allen and Jaylen Waddle were upgraded to limited after sitting out on Wednesday. That’s a positive sign for Denver in terms of availability.
  • Two new names appeared on the Broncos’ injury report on Thursday: RB RJ Harvey (knee) and S Brandon Jones (hamstring). With Talanoa Hufanga trending to miss this week, Jones’ injury is one to watch.
