LSU will host Alabama this upcoming Saturday in what’s a de facto College Football Playoff elimination game.

Alabama and LSU both have two losses. It’s possible that the loser of this game could still get into the playoff with three losses — it depends on how the rest of the season plays out — but the winner will be the only one that controls its own destiny moving forward.

ESPN’s Greg McElroy, a former Alabama quarterback, made his score prediction for the game, and he has LSU leaving Tiger Stadium with a 27-20 win.

McElroy thinks LSU’s defensive line will be able to win the battle up front.

“I’m taking LSU to win the game 27-20,” said McElroy. “I do think the under is in play, but it’s really going to come down to Alabama’s offensive line. If Keelon Russell gets time, they can win this game in Baton Rouge. But if they don’t get time, it’s going to be a real uphill climb for the Crimson Tide.”

McElroy noted that most of the sacks Alabama has given up this season have come from Russell holding the ball too long.

Alabama and LSU will kick off at 2:30 PM CT/3:30 PM ET on Saturday. The game will air on ABC.
