Georgia vs. Ole Miss Final Score Predictions: Experts predict huge game that will shift the power in the SEC and College Football Playoff

This is going to be a fascinating matchup that will be huge regarding the College Football Playoff.

One game this weekend that is getting overlooked is the Georgia Bulldogs taking on the Ole Miss Rebels. Normally, the 7:30 p.m. ET SEC game wouldn’t be overlooked, but the Miami Hurricanes taking on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will likely take precedence for many in that window.

This game is going to be a massive one for the SEC standings, because the Bulldogs have a wide-open pathway to making the SEC Championship Game, while the Rebels are fighting to stay alive.

Who do our experts have winning this game? It’s not unanimous this time.

Ole Miss 31, Georgia 26

This will be a fascinating matchup for a multitude of reasons. Georgia has only lost one game, falling to Auburn at home a few weeks ago. The Rebels already have losses to the Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns, so their CFP lives are at stake from here on out.

I’m giving the edge to the Rebels, given that the game is in Oxford, and the two losses for Ole Miss came on the road. Trinidad Chambliss will make one too many plays on the day and take the Rebels to victory, creating a cloudier SEC race.

Ole Miss 30, Georgia 24

This is a game that will be going up opposite Miami vs. Notre Dame, but it has top-notch playoff stakes and should take a back seat to no one. The Dawgs answered a shocking loss to Auburn with a convincing and dominant win over Florida. Ole Miss got back on track after losing to Texas with an emphatic 45-15 win over those same Auburn Tigers last weekend.

So who will emerge on Saturday in Oxford? Georgia handled Florida’s offense well, and they’ve found early success against the Rebels, but Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss will come alive in the second half. An improving Rebels defense will come up with a key fourth-quarter stand, and the Rebels will take a massive step towards both the playoff and SEC title game.

Georgia 34, Ole Miss 21

I’m taking Georgia to defeat Ole Miss 34-21 in a game that should feature plenty of offensive fireworks. Trinidad Chambliss will make several big plays throughout the afternoon, using his athleticism and ability to extend plays to keep the Rebels competitive. Ole Miss should have some success moving the football, and Chambliss will give the Bulldogs’ defense a few uncomfortable moments. However, I have some concerns about whether the Rebels can consistently get enough stops against Georgia’s offense.

Gunner Stockton doesn’t need to put together a spectacular performance for Georgia to win this game. I expect him to be nearly flawless, making smart decisions, taking what the defense gives him, and avoiding the costly mistakes that could swing momentum. The Bulldogs should be able to control the game offensively and take advantage of an Ole Miss defense that struggles to get off the field. Chambliss keeps the Rebels within striking distance for a while, but Georgia’s balance and execution ultimately prove too much.

Ole Miss 24, Georgia 21

We need another Heisman moment from Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss, and I’m guessing we will see it. Chambliss is elite, and I have a hard time seeing Georgia stopping him. This Georgia defense is good, but I’m not sure their edges and interior are made to stop Chambliss. Ole Miss offense needs to step up big, and we will see them do just that. Ole Miss wins this one.

Ole Miss 33, Georgia 30

Georgia and Ole Miss would be the game of the week in a typical slate, but Saturday is atypical, with so many great games packed into one 7-hour period. That doesn’t diminish what this game could mean for both teams, however. Ole Miss may survive with a third loss given their initial CFP rankings, but it would be a tough sell. But if Georgia loses, that is where things get really tricky. The Bulldogs would join a bundle of 2-loss SEC teams that could turn the conference on its head in the last month.

The Rebels have what it takes to beat Georgia, as we saw Auburn beat the Bulldogs between the hedges, and UGA has had a problem putting the ball on the ground. I think Trinidad Chambliss gets back to his magical ways, has a huge game, and pulls off the upset at home. Give me the Rebels.

Final Prediction for Georgia vs. Ole Miss

Our experts are understandably split on the game, and it makes sense. The Bulldogs haven’t looked dominant, and the Rebels, who beat them last season in the College Football Playoff, are playing for their season on Saturday night. It should be a great one in Oxford.
