We are just a few weeks until National Signing Day, which means we are officially in flip season. Things are going to get crazy, money is going to get thrown around at an insane level, and the 2025 recruiting class will eventually sign on the dotted line. One of the more interesting players to watch going down the stretch is elite Belleville (Mich.) High School quarterback Bryce Underwood, who has been committed to the LSU Tigers since January.
Underwood has been firm in his commitment to the Tigers, but the Michigan Wolverines have been making a strong push in recent weeks. There was a report recently surrounding a $10.5 million NIL offer that was even on the table for Underwood if he flips. That type of money would give any recruit a lot to think about.
Since the report surfaced, the Underwood camp has pushed back against the idea of a flip and reaffirmed their commitment to LSU. Taking it one step further, we now know an enrollment date for Underwood, who will be officially heading to Baton Rouge on December 9th according to a source.
Underwood will be eligible to practice with LSU for their bowl prep, but will not be allowed to play in the game. Michigan made a strong push for the in-state passer and gave him a lot to think about, but in the end, it appears his relationships with the Tiger staff may have just been too much. Barring something last minute, Underwood is set to be a part of this LSU class.
Underwood is a near consensus top overall player in the 2025 recruiting class by every major recruiting platform. On3, 247Sports, and ESPN all have Underwood rated as their top guy, while Rivals has him as the No. 2 overall player in the class behind Ohio State quarterback commit Tavien St. Clair. Underwood is as elite of a player as you will find in the class.
The 6-4, 215-pound dual threat quarterback has been pursued by a long list of impressive suitors over the years, and it is easy to see why when you pop on his film. Underwood is putting together a tremendous senior season, where he has thrown for 2,095 yards and 29 touchdowns, while completing over 74 percent of his passes and throwing just three interceptions.
Underwood has also been dynamic on the ground, rushing for 489 yards and three touchdowns on just 29 carries. That is an absurd 16.9 yards per carry average.
