The LSU Tigers dropped nine spots in the latest AP top 25 poll after their devastating loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. After making their way into the top five on the backs of a tremendously gifted defense, all came crashing down for Brian Kelly’s Tigers on Saturday night. An offense that was supposed to be elite after rebuilding itself through the transport portal has now become an eyesore and a complete wild card as we hit October.
Now sitting at 13th, it is safe to say that LSU has some work to do over the next two months. The good news for LSU is that the SEC gives plenty of opportunities to redeem oneself. However, the opposite is also true.
Surviving the next eight weeks while stumbling only once will prove to be a challenge.
LSU Tigers land 13th in new Top 25 AP Poll
While LSU fell alongside Georgia and Florida State, there were some major risers ready to take their place. Alabama was the big winner of the week by defeating Georgia. They are now ranked 10th.
Indiana also jumped into the top 10, now sitting at eighth. Meanwhile, Penn State fell only four spots in their shocking double overtime loss to Oregon.
We will see how LSU bounces back in the next few weeks. The seat is starting to get a little bit warmer for Kelly and his program as they look to fix an offense that was supposed to generate a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback in Garrett Nussmeier.
