Notre Dame quarterback recruiting has been tremendous under head coach Marcus Freeman in recent years. They are on quite a hot streak, landing the likes of Kenny Minchey, CJ Carr, Blake Hebert, Noah Grubbs, and Teddy Jarrard. The Fighting Irish also hold a commitment from Wonderful “Champ” Monds IV in the 2027 class.

With that commitment from Monds, quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock have already gotten a head start on the 2028 quarterback class. That includes three talented signal callers who have been offered by Notre Dame. The program has made some great early progress with that group and is positioning itself to continue its momentum.

Here is where things stand early on for the 2028 class, and the three top quarterbacks to know right now.

Kingston Preyear – Alexander (Al.) Benjamin Russell

Of the three quarterbacks who hold offers from Notre Dame, they are in the best spot with Preyear early on. The 6-3, 195-pound signal caller made the trip to South Bend this offseason, and that trip proved to be great for their early recruiting efforts. Already rated inside the top-100 on the 247 Sports Composite ranking, Preyear is one of the higher upside quarterbacks in the 2028 class. Things are moving quickly between Preyear and Notre Dame. The Irish are the favorite so far.

Neimann Lawrence – Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage

Notre Dame got on Lawrence extremely early and has already hosted him for multiple visits. While he is a smaller quarterback at 6-0.5 and 202 pounds, Lawrence has an extremely live arm. He is a very smooth signal caller who can throw well on the run, while also navigating pockets extremely well. Don’t let that aforementioned size fool you. Lawrence is a very gifted player, coming over to American Heritage this offseason after starring for Miami Northwestern previously. The Fighting Irish staff has put themselves in a great spot early on.

Lukas Prock – Princeton (NJ) Hun School

Prock got his offer last in the group, but that isn’t due to a lack of talent. At 6-2 and 190 pounds, Prock has a good frame and an extremely talented arm. He is also a good enough mover to make some plays outside of structure. Out of the three quarterbacks on the board right now, I would probably put Prock last on the list in terms of where Notre Dame stands. There is a lot of talent to be excited about here, and he is certainly worth keeping a close eye on.
