Ohio State football is swinging big in the class of 2027 when it comes to recruiting and they’re after one of the best recruits.

Ohio State has not landed a top running back in a few cycles and they’re shooting to do so this go around. The Buckeyes’ top target is Baylor School (TN) David Gabriel Georges — and momentum seems to be in their favor

Latest on David Gabriel Georges is good news around Ohio State

On3’s Steve Wiltfong has believed for some time Gabriel Georges would end up at Ohio State and he’s not wavering.

“Position coach Carlos Locklyn has been recruiting the Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School product and Canada native longer than any other program and has the best connection with him and his family,” Wiltfong wrote. “I still like where my prediction stands. The Buckeyes bring him back the weekend of May 29 for his official visit and look to hold off Tennessee among others for his signature.”

The battle for the No. 10 player nationally and No. 2 running back, according to 247 Sports Composite, and it’s a battle between the Buckeyes and Tennessee. The Vols are the home state team with Gabriel Georges playing in Tennessee, but it’s a great development that he has the best relationship with the Ohio State running backs coach.

Gabriel Georges is college-ready at 6-foot, 205 pounds, and is going to push for playing time as a true freshman wherever he ends up. He’s Ohio State’s top offensive target on their board and one they can’t let get away with current positioning.

Ohio State has the momentum but official visits this summer will be crucial. Expect Ohio State to get the talented running back on campus in May or June.
