There's really no surprises here. There are some big notes. Penei Sewell is just 22 years old. This is a huge moment for this kid. It's a big deal when such a young player can come in and be a leader right away so early into their career.
Charles Harris has quietly had a really good summer. He's looked pretty good in training camp. He hasn't played int he preseason, so it's been kind of easy to forget about him. But him being a captain really shows you that the team trusts in him and he could be in for a big role in the Lions defense in 2023.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin was a Lions special teams captain for a while before he left for the Texans. Now he's back with the Lions and is once again a captain.
