The Tennessee Vols are set to receive an official visit from four-star offensive tackle Lucas Simmons this weekend.

Simmons, 6-foot-7/300 lbs from Clearwater, FL (Clearwater Academy International), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 18 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 33 player in the state of Florida.

Here’s the scouting report on Simmons from 247Sports southeast recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins:

What you look for in a young left tackle prospect given size, reach and ability to bend. Grew up in Sweden playing handball and a variety of other sports before his hulking frame led him to the game of American football. Spent his junior season at Clearwater Academy International getting a crash course in both pass blocking and run blocking. Got better each week, but still far from a complete product. Can simply overwhelm defenders with his 82-inch wingspan and take them right out of the play.

Simmons told On3 this week that the most important thing he’s looking for in a program is a good relationship with the coaches and the players in the program.

“I want to see if they treat me the same with other people around, are real with my parents, have a clear plan for me as a student and athlete,” said Simmons. “And I want to make sure I fit in with the guys in the program and position room.”

Simmons also noted that he plans to announce his commitment in either July or August.

The Vols currently have nine players committed to its 2023 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 7 in the nation.
