Vols assistant no longer a candidate for one open job, but he could still leave for another program

Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is a name that was picking up some steam this week in the Cincinnati Bearcats' search to replace Luke Fickell.
Football Scoop's John Brice indicated this weekend, however, that Golesh is no longer in the mix at Cincinnati.
But that doesn't mean Golesh will be back in Knoxville next season. Brice also noted that Golesh is still an option for the USF job.
Both jobs make some sense for Golesh, thanks to his ties to Ohio (he was raised in Ohio and went to school at Ohio State) and his ties to Florida (he spent a year at UCF as Josh Heupel's offensive coordinator before landing in Knoxville).
The Cincinnati job likely would've been the more attractive job due to the program moving to the Big 12 next season.
Golesh is in a great situation at Tennessee, so he might choose to wait for another Power-5 job to open before leaving Heupel's staff.
If Golesh leaves, though, I'd look for Vols quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle to move into the offensive coordinator role for Tennessee.
