Tennessee football fans aren’t sure how to feel about the Vol on Vol crime that went down during a preseason game on Saturday.
Tennessee football fans may be feeling a little conflicted after some Vol on Vol crime went down on Saturday afternoon during a preseason matchup between the Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions.
Less than a minute into the first quarter, Lions quarterback Josh Dobbs, a former Tennessee standout, fumbled after his offensive line failed him.
Former Vols defensive lineman Joshua Josephs, a fifth-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, eventually recovered the fumble in the end zone for a Washington touchdown.
Josephs, who made a lot of noise during Commanders training camp, showed incredible effort on the recovery, sprinting from out of nowhere to secure the ball. The former Vol appears poised to make an impact for Washington as a rookie this season.
As for Dobbs, the 10-year NFL veteran made a splash play later in the first quarter, scoring on a 50-yard run.
Dobbs is expected to serve as the top backup to Jared Goff in Detroit.
