Dalton Knecht involved in blockbuster deal with a major impact on the league in latest NBA trade proposal
Former Tennessee Volunteers guard Dalton Knecht is expected to be traded by the Los Angeles Lakers before the 2026-27 NBA season.
The expectation is that former Tennessee Vols guard Dalton Knecht will be traded before the 2026-27 NBA season.
Knecht, who just wrapped up his second season in the NBA, has fallen out of favor with the Lakers over the last year. The former Vol’s playing time was slashed in half this past season.
Los Angeles seemingly drafted Knecht’s replacement earlier this week by selecting former Tennessee/Baylor guard Cameron Carr in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
That move all but signals that Knecht will be on the move this summer.
Latest NBA trade proposal has Dalton Knecht involved in a mega deal
The latest NBA trade proposal from Bleacher Report has Knecht going to the Utah Jazz as part of a three-team trade.
Heat receive:
- LeBron James (from Lakers)
- Bronny James (from Lakers)
- Bez Mbeng (from Jazz)
- $10.2 million trade exception (Andrew Wiggins)
Lakers receive:
- Andrew Wiggins (from Heat)
- Walker Kessler (from Jazz)
- $6 million trade exception (Jake LaRavia)
Jazz receive:
- Deandre Ayton (from Lakers)
- Jarred Vanderbilt (from Lakers)
- Jake LaRavia (from Lakers)
- Dalton Knecht (from Lakers)
- 2031 first-round pick
- 2033 first-round pick
At this point, any situation would be better for Knecht than the one he’s currently in with the Lakers. Knecht just needs an opportunity to play, something the Lakers clearly don’t have any interest in giving him.
