On Monday, 2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre committed to the Tennessee Vols.

The next night, MacIntyre was playing basketball for Brentwood Academy.

MacIntyre, the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class, isn't just an elite football player, he's an elite basketball player, too.

In fact, basketball was MacIntyre's first love.

"Basketball was definitely my first love," said MacIntyre on Wednesday during an appearance on 104.5 The Zone's Ramon, Kayla, and Will. "If you caught me anytime before my sophomore year, if it was working out extra for sports, it was always basketball."

MacIntyre, who had an offer from Arizona State to play basketball, said he started focusing more on football during his sophomore season of high school.

While football is obviously MacIntyre's future now, he still goes hard in the paint during high school basketball games. And on Tuesday night, he showed off some of those skills.

According to The Tennessean, at one point during the game against Father Ryan on Tuesday, MacIntyre was called for a technical foul for trying to grab his own rebound while hanging onto the rim.

MacIntyre is just another example of why kids should play multiple sports growing up instead of specializing in one sport at a young age.
