The Tennessee Vols are one of numerous programs that are hoping to land 2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.

Keys, 6-foot-3/180 lbs from Hattiesburg, MS, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 4 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The highly coveted recruit visited Tennessee earlier this month and while he's not quite ready to name a leader, Keys made it clear that the Vols are doing a great job of recruiting him.

“I haven’t quite found that No. 1 right now,” said Keys ton On3. “I’d say Tennessee is going at it real hard. I’d say Tennessee is going harder than anyone else."

Keys also pointed out that the way Tennessee recruits elite quarterbacks is something that stands out to him.

"They do a good job at the quarterback position," said Keys. "They got Faizon (Brandon) up there. They got Nico (Iamaleava). They do a great job recruiting quarterbacks and you want somebody that can spin the ball when you’re a wide receiver.”

There's still a long way to go in this recruiting battle — Keys will take official visits later this spring/summer — but the Volunteers certainly appear to be one of the teams to beat for the Mississippi native.

Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M are also strong contenders for Keys.

Landing Keys would be absolutely massive for Tennessee. The five-star recruit is the type of wide receiver that be one of the best players in the nation as a true freshman. That's the kind of talent the Vols have been lacking in recent years as they try to break through and win a national championship under head coach Josh Heupel.

Keys, by the way, is expected to announce his commitment this summer after his official visits.
