Earlier this month, the Tennessee Vols announced that Mike Keith, the longtime voice of the Tennessee Titans, will replace Bob Kesling as the new Voice of the Vols.

Keith is a Tennessee graduate who worked under legendary Vols announcer John Ward for a decade before heading west to Nashville.

When Keith sits in the booth next fall to call the Vols' season-opener against Syracuse, he'll be tasked with pronouncing the last name of Tennessee starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava, something that several announcers stumbled over in 2024.

Keith, however, has already nailed the pronunciation, as he demonstrated during a recent sit down interview with WVLT's Rick Russo .

I don't know if that's absolutely perfect, but it sounds pretty close.

Fans, though, can judge for themselves. Here's Nico himself pronouncing his last name.

Keith will have plenty of time to make sure every syllable is correct before the Vols kick off the 2025 season in Atlanta against Syracuse on August 30.
