The New York Giants’ bizarre usage non-usage of former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt continued in Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season.

After not getting traded before last week’s deadline, Hyatt was active for the Giants on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bears.

The former Vol, however, played zero snaps in the loss to Chicago.

Hyatt, a third-round selection by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, has just three receptions for 17 yards this season.

What are the New York Giants doing with Jalin Hyatt?

The Giants appear to have no clear plan for Hyatt’s role within the franchise.

New York reportedly turned down offers for Hyatt just before the start of the season, which is an extremely baffling decision in retrospect, considering the former Tennessee standout’s lack of playing time over the first two months of the season.

There were rumblings that the Giants were looking to trade Hyatt before last week’s deadline.

The Giants, however, have tanked Hyatt’s value with the way they’ve used him the past two seasons. Hyatt caught just eight passes for 62 yards last season after catching 23 passes for 373 yards as a rookie in 2023.

As a result, the Giants, according to The New York Post, couldn’t find any “serious takers” for Hyatt before the trade deadline.

Hyatt has one season remaining on his rookie contract. The best thing for the former Vol’s career, though, would be for him to be released by the Giants this upcoming offseason so he can find a better situation in the NFL.
