The Tennessee Vols have been on a recruiting hot streak over the last week, and it’s expected to continue.

Tennessee flipped 2027 four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II from Alabama on Saturday, and then they landed a commitment from 2027 four-star offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson a few hours later.

The Vols also landed a commitment from three-star wide receiver Dayon Cooper on Monday, who decommitted from Florida State on Sunday after visiting Tennessee this past weekend.

Tennessee predicted to land four-star safety

On Monday, On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicted that Tennessee will also land 2027 four-star safety Marcus Jones.

Jones, 6-foot-3/190 pounds from Malvern, PA, is rated by Rivals as the No. 17 safety in the nation and the No. 8 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

“Marcus Jones is closing in on a college decision,” wrote Wiltfong. “Tennessee is the program to beat. Talking to sources with knowledge of the recruitment I’ve logged a prediction in favor of the Vols to add the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Jones to the class.”

Jones’ uncle is former NFL wide receiver Mark Jones, who played at Tennessee in the early 2000s.

The talented safety started turning heads after a big performance at the OT7 (Overtime’s 7-on-7 league) in April.

“Safety Marcus Jones was one of the top defensive backs of the weekend,” noted On3’s Charles Power in April. “A big safety who looks all of the listed 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Jones is an instinctual defender who consistently found ways to impact the game. He picked off five-star quarterback Will Mencl twice on Saturday, using his size and spatial awareness to impact passing lanes.”

Jones also has offers from North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Ohio State, among others.
